What exactly is Somatic Experiencing®?
Somatic Experiencing® (SE) is a gentle, body-based approach to healing trauma, stress, and emotional overwhelm. Instead of focusing only on thoughts or past experiences, SE works with the nervous system - helping you tune into the sensations, signals, and inner cues your body is always sending.
This method doesn’t require revisiting or retelling painful memories. Instead, we work with your body’s felt sense, slowly building capacity and gently releasing stored tension and survival responses. The goal is to guide your nervous system back to its natural rhythm, creating space for deep regulation, repair, and lasting change.
Why does somatic work matter?
Many people spend years in talk therapy gaining insight, yet still feel stuck in patterns of anxiety, shutdown, or reactivity. That’s because trauma and stress live in the body - not just the mind. Somatic Experiencing helps you reconnect with your body, tuning into its quiet signals and building the capacity to respond to life with more stability and ease.
Is this like therapy or coaching?
This work is distinct from traditional therapy or coaching. I am a certified somatic practitioner, not a licensed therapist or coach. My role is to guide you in connecting with your body’s felt sense, tracking patterns, and supporting your nervous system to return to balance.
